Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT®) LOUD

Supported by over 25 years of clinical research, LSVT LOUD is the â€˜GOLD STANDARD’ therapy for speech and voice difficulties associated with Parkinson's disease.

The program focuses on THINKING  LOUD and translating this practice into everyday conversations, whether it be with family, friends, or your local barista!

LSVT LOUD is intensive - it is conducted over four consecutive one-hour sessions for four weeks.

It also includes daily homework exercises that are tailored to your individual interests.

The intensity of the program ensures that you are challenged to achieve optimal results.

Secondary results of the program may include improvements in:

  • swallowing

  • articulation

  • facial expression

Please note that an evaluation by an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialist must be completed prior to commencing the program. This is to ensure that there are no underlying vocal pathologies (e.g. vocal nodules) that may hinder optimal results. You can obtain a referral to an ENT through your doctor.

The program begins with an assessment session to ensure LSVT LOUD is appropriate for you. If not, a suitable alternative can be discussed.

Stephanie, the speech pathologist, is an LSVT eLoud certified clinician meaning she is able to deliver the LSVT LOUD program via platforms such as Zoom or Facetime.

LSVT LOUD via telehealth means that high-quality and evidence-based therapy can be delivered to you wherever you are! It is easy and convenient. All you require is a computer/phone/tablet, webcam, and an internet connection.
